Travelling to School

Travelling to School

For our students who live in Jervis Bay Village, walking or riding is the preferred option, as it helps to reduce congestion, increase safety and ensures children arrive invigorated and ready to learn.

However, if you live beyond the village then walking is clearly not an option due to the remote location of the school. Parents or carers may choose to drive children to school, with limited parking available at the southern end of the school, alongside the school oval. If you need to drive, please drive safely around the school and obey the road rules at all times.

Free Transport Provision

The ACT Government has established a service agreement with local bus company, ‘Kennedys Bus and Coach’. Kennedys provide free transport to and from Jervis Bay School for any student requiring transport, including preschool age students (although specific paperwork must be completed by parents/guardians for our 4 year-old students.)

This chartered service transfers students from the Wreck Bay Community to Jervis Bay Primary School throughout the regular school term. The specific route and schedule are available from Kennedys directly and does include a pickup and drop off from Sanctuary Point.
